In 2018, 30 guests made their way to Bali accompanied by international artists to Bambu Indah hotel in Ubud, a creative lush paradise surrounded with rice fields.

Our teachers from flores island
Arriving directly from Flores island, we were blessed to receive the teaching and the ancestral knowledge and experience from an Indonesian weaving group. It was the first time away from their village for these women who were so gracefully holding the workshops with Daniel, the group leader. We learned motif design, tying ikat, mordanting, colors with natural dyes and ikat weaving… We learned how to communicate without words in ways going beyond what we had expected. We shared, laughed, danced together. We created a handwoven multicultural bridge together, full of memorable experiences, exchanging with international artists, passionated people and connoisseurs as well as meeting weavers communities from other parts of Bali
